Opening Reception: The West in Her Hands

Join us Thursday, September 17, at 6 p.m. for the opening of The West in Her Hands: Early Women Artists of West Texas.

This special evening offers the first opportunity to experience the exhibition, featuring 42 works by 29 women whose paintings, prints, and sculpture helped document and shape the early artistic life of West Texas. The collection is on loan from the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum in Canyon.

Art historian Michael Grauer will be our guest speaker for the evening, sharing stories about the women represented in the exhibition and placing their work within the larger history of early Texas art.

Guests will enjoy light bites, time in the galleries, and an evening centered on the women who carried art into communities across West Texas.
