Now – August
American Patriots & American Future

The Sacrifice of Our Nation and the Hope of Our Young Dreamers

On view through August at The Citadelle Art Museum

The country turns 250 this year, and The Citadelle is marking the moment by looking closely at what it took to build this nation and who is carrying it forward. American Patriots & American Future: The Sacrifice of Our Nation and the Hope of Our Young Dreamers is open now through August.

This exhibition gathers flags, photographs, letters, medals, uniforms, and artifacts that tell the story of the men and women who served. Placed alongside them is the work of young artists who carry that legacy into the next generation. The result is a conversation between those who gave something for this country and those who will shape what comes next.

Two hundred and fifty years of history lives in the small details. A folded flag. A handwritten letter. A photograph of someone who left home and came back changed. This is a show that asks you to slow down and look closely, one object at a time.

The stories here are local, they are Panhandle stories, and they are American history. Artifacts and artwork sit side by side in our galleries, and all of it rewards a closer look.
