Free Summer Admission for Military Families

The Citadelle Joins Blue Star Museums

Free Admission for Active-Duty Military Families now through September 7, 2026, Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Citadelle Art Museum is proud to once again participate in Blue Star Museums, a national program offering free admission to active-duty military personnel and their families now through Labor Day.

We are honored to welcome the men and women who serve our country, along with their loved ones, into our galleries this summer. Whether you are stationed nearby, visiting family in the Panhandle, or passing through on a summer road trip, we invite you to spend an afternoon with us.

Who is eligible?
Free admission is available to currently serving members of the U.S. military, including the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, Space Force, National Guard, Reserves, U.S. Public Health Commissioned Corps, and NOAA Commissioned Corps, along with up to five family members per visit.

How to receive your free admission: Simply present a valid military ID at the front desk upon arrival. No reservation or advance registration required.

What you will see. Through June 13, visitors can experience Human Resonance: Portraits with Presence, a powerful exhibition of contemporary figurative work by seven nationally recognized artists, including David Kassan’s portraits of Holocaust survivors. Following its closing, our permanent collection remains on view, featuring Norman Rockwell’s First Day of School along with works by Mary Cassatt, J.C. Leyendecker, and other celebrated artists.

Plan your visit to The Citadelle Art Museum, 520 Nelson Avenue, Canadian, TX 79014, Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (806) 323-8899
